Remembering Mark

Mark Braimbridge was a pioneering heart surgeon and researcher who embraced life with passion, warmth and delight.  After retiring from surgery he threw himself into a new life in horticulture, co-founding the European Boxwood and Topiary Society and contributing many articles to its Topiarus magazine.  Gradual loss of hearing and balance hindered but did not erase his lifelong appetite for travelling.

Mark died peacefully on Monday 31st October 2016 in London.  He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth and his children Fiona, Nicholas, Laura and Sophie; his grandchildren Fergus, Georgia, Bertie, Charlie, Miranda, Crispin, Ella, Lula, Flora and Amelia; his stepchildren Carolyn, Michael and Raymond and his step-grandchildren Oscar and Luke.

We'd love to share any photos or memories you have of Mark.  You can do so via the menus at the top left of this page.

The funeral for Mark was for his family, and was held on Monday 14th November.  Gifts in his memory to Action on Hearing Loss (which supports medical research and all those affected by deafness) would be wonderful.  To read more or make a gift, please click on "Donations and Events" above.
